ABSTRACT & CITATION

Coming on the heels of the exoneration of Henry McCollum, this report discusses a study of 56 people who were capitally prosecuted in North Carolina despite evidence too weak to prove their guilt. After poring over case files, court records, and new reports, The Center for Death Penalty Litigation issued this report to expose the hidden costs of wrongful capital prosecutions in North Carolina.
